Data responsibility
The client/data controller is responsible for the data they upload, manage, and use. Advanced Subscriber Intelligence provides the protected sending infrastructure, compliance tools, unsubscribe/abuse handling routes, monitoring, and reporting systems within the ASI environment.
Purpose of this page
This page explains the compliance responsibilities that apply to this ASI deployment.
Client/data controller responsibilities
The client/data controller is responsible for ensuring that all data uploaded to or used in the ASI environment has been collected and used lawfully.
This includes consent, lawful basis, notice, list source, suppression, unsubscribe, complaints, data accuracy, retention, international transfer requirements, and all campaign content decisions.
ASI infrastructure responsibilities
Advanced Subscriber Intelligence provides protected sending infrastructure, compliance tools, unsubscribe and abuse handling routes, monitoring, reporting, diagnostics, and operational controls within the ASI environment.
ASI tools are designed to support safer sending, but they do not replace the client/data controller’s legal responsibility for their data, campaign content, recipient targeting, or legal basis for contact.
Email compliance
Campaigns should identify the sender, avoid misleading headers or subject lines, include required business identification, provide a working unsubscribe route, honour opt-outs, and avoid sending to recipients where the client/data controller does not have a valid basis to contact them.
Unsubscribe and suppression handling
ASI may provide unsubscribe, suppression, bounce, complaint, abuse-report, and send-safety tools. The client/data controller remains responsible for honouring unsubscribe and suppression obligations across their own systems and data sources.
Abuse handling
Abuse reports may be sent to abuse@advanced-subscriber-intelligence.com. Reports may be reviewed for sender protection, security, delivery health, platform integrity, investigation, and compliance purposes.
Security and monitoring
ASI may monitor infrastructure, sending activity, delivery evidence, bounce signals, abuse signals, reputation indicators, queue pressure, and operational diagnostics to help protect the environment and sender reputation.
Jurisdiction-specific obligations
The client/data controller is responsible for meeting any country-specific or region-specific laws that apply to their recipients, campaigns, data sources, and business operations.
